With suppliers offering a one-stop shop for POS systems and peripherals, Taiwan is all set to be a competitive player in the POS sourcing market.

Point-of-sale (POS) systems have created a niche for themselves in the Taiwan computer market. Based on the Intel x86 PC architecture, most POS systems can be integrated with other peripherals such as keyboards, cash registers and magnetic card readers.

Though the quantities of POS systems exported cannot be compared with those of PCs, Taiwan has its own set of suppliers catering to the demands of local and international POS buyers.

The POS systems market in Taiwan is fast becoming buyer-friendly, with stiff competition, updated technology and easy availability of standard components. Most POS suppliers provide peripherals such as POS keyboards, bar-code readers and magnetic card readers, either manufactured in-house or outsourced, to their buyers. Serial-Ethernet Converter

TYSSO Serial to Ethernet (S2E) products facilitate RS232 or RS422/485 communications over existing Ethernet networks by ingeniously packing serial data in to an Ethernet frame and moving the data to the relevant location (typically a PC) using IP addressing. It is an ideal way to prevent cabling duplication or to overcome the 15m distance limitation of RS232.
Operation is based on TCP/IP protocols hence a LAN, WAN or even the Internet can now be used to route your serial data.

PKB Series are the advanced performance MS Windows compatible keyboard featuring compact elegant design. An optional barcode or magnetic swipe card decoder is integrated into the keyboard. It has dual interfaces and both its ports may be operational simultaneously. The decoder automatically differentiates between wand and laser emulation and communicates via the keyboard interface.
